Carmes de Rieussec 2012: The Floral Expression of a Confidential Sauternes
The second wine of the prestigious Château Rieussec, this cuvée takes its name from the Carmelite monks of Langon, historical owners of the estate in the 18th century. The 2012 vintage, marked by demanding climatic conditions, gave birth only to this second wine, the result of rigorous selection and exemplary viticultural work.
Crafted from a blend dominated by Sémillon (87%), complemented by Sauvignon Blanc (10%) and a touch of Muscadelle (3%), this sweet wine benefited from 18 months of aging in oak barrels.
Nose: Delicate bouquet of white flowers, expressing acacia and honeysuckle with beautiful aromatic freshness.
Color: Elegant golden hue characteristic of Sauternes wines.
Palate: The attack reveals a generous liqueur with honeyed notes, followed by harmonious balance. The finish, of medium length, is distinguished by its pleasant and persistent liveliness.
An aperitif wine to be enjoyed in its youth to fully appreciate its floral and fruity expression.
