The second wine of the prestigious Château Rieussec, this 2021 Sauternes embodies the finesse and freshness of an exceptional vintage. Crafted on gravelly sandy-clay soils at the junction of Fargues and Sauternes, this sweet wine reveals a refined aromatic profile.

The blend features a remarkable proportion of Sauvignon Blanc (39%), lending the wine distinctive liveliness and assertive mineral expression.

Nose: The aromatic approach unveils beautiful minerality reminiscent of warm stones and dry grass after a storm. Nuances of fresh apricot and delicate white floral notes follow.

Color: Pale gold with luminous highlights, reflecting its youth and freshness.

Palate: The palate captivates with its citrus tension and remarkable freshness. The candied character remains discreet, allowing perfectly integrated oak to express itself. The whole offers refined elegance that invites you to return.

Aged 12 months in barrels with regular bâtonnage, this Sauternes expresses the full mastery of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite).

After harvest, the grapes are pressed and vinified plot by plot. Following settling, the musts are barreled separately for fermentation. The wines are regularly stirred on their lees (bâtonnage) until mid-December, before racking and blending. Ageing continues in barrels for approximately 12 months.
