Carmes de Rieussec 2017
Carmes de Rieussec 2017: Liquid Elegance from Sauternes
The second wine of the prestigious Château Rieussec, a Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855 and owned by the Rothschild family since 1984, Carmes de Rieussec draws its character from exceptional gravelly clay-sand terroir located at the junction of Fargues and Sauternes.
The 2017 vintage, shaped by contrasting weather conditions and harvesting conducted from September 26 to October 12, produces a Sauternes of rare aromatic intensity.
This blend dominated by Sémillon (94%), complemented by Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle (3% each), embodies the excellence of Bordeaux sweet wines.
Nose: A powerful and expressive aromatic profile reveals vibrant notes of fresh citrus, juicy mandarin, and candied melon, with remarkable purity.
Color: Radiant golden yellow with luminous highlights.
Palate: The attack is elegant and refined. The palate then unfolds a pure and generous texture, carried by invigorating acidity that brings freshness and dynamism through to a harmonious finish with beautiful persistence.
Serve between 8 and 10°C to reveal its full complexity.
