Carmes de Rieussec 2015: Sauternes Elegance as a Second Wine
The second wine of the prestigious Château Rieussec, Carmes de Rieussec 2015 draws its excellence from the same exceptional vineyards of the Sauternes appellation. Its name pays tribute to the Carmelite monks of Langon, historical owners of the estate in the 18th century.
Crafted from a refined blend of 87% Sémillon, 7% Sauvignon Blanc, and 6% Muscadelle, this sweet wine benefits from 18 months of barrel aging, bestowing complexity and harmony.
Nose: A generous aromatic expression unveils notes of candied white fruits evolving toward hints of bitter orange, the signature of this vintage.
Color: Beautiful golden hue with luminous highlights, characteristic of great Sauternes.
Palate: The attack reveals delicacy before blossoming with intensity on aromas of fresh pineapple. The ample texture is enriched by perfectly integrated oak, while the taut and balanced finish offers remarkable persistence.
