Château Rieussec 2011: Sauternes Excellence
Located in the heart of the Sauternes appellation on the left bank of the Garonne, Château Rieussec extends over 93 hectares of sandy-gravelly clay soils between Fargues and Sauternes. The influence of the Ciron river creates ideal conditions for noble rot development.
The 2011 vintage reflects a demanding viticultural year, marked by heightened vigilance amid changing climatic conditions. Harvest extended until November 2nd with 7 successive passes, allowing selection of grapes at optimal maturity.
Vinification: Blend of Sémillon (95%), Sauvignon Blanc (3%), and Muscadelle (2%). Parcel vinification in new barrels, followed by 26 months aging.
Nose: Delicate oak evolving towards floral notes of honeysuckle and acacia blossom.
Color: Intense, deep gold.
Palate: Generous amplitude combining liqueur and freshness, with remarkable balance. Long, persistent finish enhanced by a subtle hint of bitterness that elevates the aromas.
