Château Rieussec 2023: Sauternes excellence in collector's edition

From an exceptional 85-hectare terroir on the left bank of the Garonne, this Sauternes Premier Cru Classé 1855 celebrates its 40th vintage with a limited edition transparent magnum featuring the estate's historic label.

Crafted by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), this sweet wine benefits from ideal climatic conditions promoting noble rot development on gravelly sandy-clay soils.

Nose: Expressive bouquet of apricot and fresh pineapple, enriched with candied citrus zest and delicate floral notes of chamomile and acacia.

Palate: Subtle balance between creamy texture and aromatic freshness, lively finish revealing blood orange peel notes and persistent minty freshness.

Blend: Sémillon (89%), Sauvignon Blanc (11%)

Château Rieussec 2023 is hand-harvested into small crates, followed by immediate pressing in small pneumatic presses. After settling, the musts ferment in new barrels for the Sémillon and in once-used barrels for the Sauvignon Blanc, with plot-by-plot vinification. Ageing on lees with bâtonnage continues until mid-December, followed by blending and a further ageing period of approximately 18 months in barrels.

This Château Rieussec 2023 pairs perfectly with pan-seared foie gras, exotic fruit desserts, or blue cheese. It also enhances apricot tart and spicy Asian cuisine.
