Château Rieussec 2024: Sauternes Elegance Refined

Nestled in the heart of the Sauternes appellation on the left bank of the Garonne, Château Rieussec benefits from exceptional terroir. Its 85 hectares of sandy-gravelly clay soils, located at the confluence of Fargues and Sauternes, benefit from the natural humidity of the Ciron River, creating ideal conditions for noble rot development.

The 2024 vintage stands out for its early harvest and meticulous vinification: manual picking in small crates, gentle pneumatic pressing, barrel fermentation, and 18-month aging on lees with regular bâtonnage.

Nose: Delicate bouquet revealing notes of candied apricot with a refined, airy dimension.

Color: Luminous golden hue characteristic of great Sauternes.

Palate: Remarkable balance between controlled sweetness and saline freshness, carried by a lively structure and exceptional aromatic precision.

Hand-harvested and sorted in small crates, the grapes are pressed on arrival. Fermentation occurs in oak barrels, with new barriques for Sémillon and one-year-old barrels for Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is aged on its lees with regular bâtonnage, then blended and returned to barrel for around 18 months of ageing.
