Château Rieussec 2005
Château Rieussec 2005: Sauternes Excellence
Located on the left bank of the Garonne, Château Rieussec spans 93 hectares of sandy-clay gravels between Fargues and Sauternes. The humidity from the Ciron River creates ideal conditions for noble rot, essential to great Sauternes.
The 2005 vintage stands out with its contrasting climate: winter drought followed by a scorching summer, then cooler conditions allowing slow, balanced ripening. Manual harvest from September 23 to October 27.
Vinified in new oak barrels with controlled fermentation, aged 26 months in oak casks.
Blend: 90% Sémillon, 8% Sauvignon, 2% Muscadelle
Nose: Aromatic freshness revealing notes of jam, candied apricots, and figs.
Color: Intense, brilliant golden hue.
Palate: Generous, smooth roundness, persistent candied aromas, remarkably long finish.
