Château Rieussec 2007: The Elegance of Premier Cru Classé Sauternes
A historic reference among great Bordeaux sweet wines since 1868, this Sauternes comes from a 93-hectare estate located at the junction of Fargues and Sauternes. The vines thrive on sandy-clay gravel soils, benefiting from the Ciron river's influence that encourages Botrytis Cinerea development.
The 2007 vintage features meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification. After immediate pressing, the must ferments in new oak barrels with regular bâtonnage until mid-December, followed by 26 months of aging.
Nose: Delicate bouquet of wildflowers accompanied by candied fruits, citrus, and melon, with harmonious oak integration.
Color: Beautiful sustained yellow with youthful green reflections.
Palate: Subtle attack evolving into fine amplitude. Balance between freshness and richness expressed through citrus and orange notes, with a long finish revealing classic candied apricot aromas.
