Château Rieussec 2008
Château Rieussec 2008: Excellence from Sauternes Premier Cru Classé
Located in the heart of the Sauternes appellation on the left bank of the Garonne, Château Rieussec spans 93 hectares of sandy-clay gravel soils at the junction of Fargues and Sauternes. The influence of the Ciron River creates perfect conditions for Botrytis Cinerea development, the precious noble rot.
The 2008 vintage, despite contrasting weather conditions, benefited from a stable autumn allowing optimal maturation. Harvesting took place from September 29th to November 14th.
Vinified using traditional methods in new oak barrels and aged for 26 months, this wine reveals the quintessence of the Sauternes terroir.
Blend: 86% Sémillon, 12% Sauvignon, 2% Muscadelle
Nose: Expressive bouquet of citrus and candied fruits, enhanced by elegant oaky notes.
Color: Beautiful bright golden hue.
Palate: Rich and smooth texture, perfectly luscious, evolving toward a fruity, airy, and delicate finish.
